Firstly, thanks for developing such an informative website. I've gone thru almost all the contents of your website & found it very knowledge enrichment. Congratulation! I've had a very serious question to ask Mr. Admin regarding the 'halal' status of PB Gold account transaction. First of all, the investment is made by buying 'virtual gold'. We then sell & buy the 'virtual gold' just like the conventional stock market trading the paper currency which they claim back up by gold (which is not exist). The similarity is the virtual transaction. Since there is no physical gold involve in the 'virtual gold' transaction, the business is also seen prone to manipulation. Just like the normal conventional stock market transaction when everybody claim that their product is back up by real gold value.

We need to satisfy the above basic question and then only we can proceed to answer this 2nd question. Is there any guarantees from PB that the investment can been turned into physical gold product at any time when required by customer (at least to proof they really keep the gold stock).

Frankly & personally saying, I'm attracted & hopeful to invest thru this PB Gold account method due to its simplicity and easy management but the legality of the halal status need to be addressed and satisfied first since we are all muslim & obliged to the 'hukum syarak'.

Hj, as far as I know Public Bank do have a gold bar in the vault. But I don't know wether they are willing to disclose this openly or not. This info in corfirmed by my friend who use to be an ex- Public Bank staff. Previously when Public Bank first launch this GIA, they offer an option to withdraw the gold in the form of physical gold. But upon checking today, I found that this option is put on hold till further notification.

So, now I suggest that you follow your heart. If you are not confortable with this, then you can invest in physical gold. Even I myself prefer physical gold over gold saving account.

Wether it is halal or not, I think the authority is better look into this matter. This is to avoid confusion among Muslim. I'm not into position to confirm that.

If you feel in doubt, go for other alternative. Kijang Emas or Dinar Emas is good alternative and will make you feel peace.
